Upcoming Surgery

As we prepare for yet, another surgery in Salt Lake City to get the metal out of Ella's hip/leg, I can't help but be filled with joy today!  This little girl, who we were told we would never get a chance to meet, is filling our home with happy sounds of laughter and singing everyday!  Even now, she is bouncing around with crimped piggy tails that are bouncing around on the top of her head like fluffy pom poms while singing "Oh I Just Can't Wait To Be King" from The Lion King.  What amazing symbolism can be seen in this little picture of her signing about being royalty: because of the fact that Ella has accepted Christ into her heart as her Lord and Savior, she really is royalty.  A precious princess; God's daughter.  And because of her little life, countless others have seen God's amazing power and saving grace.  We send all glory, honor and praise to Him today!

Our family is committing, daily, to serve Jesus wholeheartedly until His magnificent return and then again in eternity.  Will you join us in prayer for Ella's surgery this week?   Even more important, will you (if you haven't already) commit your hearts to Him, Jesus Christ, and become heirs with us, royalty in Jesus through His blood on the cross, and serve Him with all that you are until the day He comes to take us to His kingdom?

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And so we will be with the Lord forever." - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Jesus' words: "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn.  They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.  And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other." - Matthew 24:30-31

Prayer for Ella Belle

Please keep our Ella Belle in your prayers. She's been taking short, quick breaths for two days now and coughing so frequently and violently. Yesterday, her coughs were so intense that she threw up. We took her to Quick Care yesterday and the Physician's assistant urged us to go straight to the E.R. because of Ella's breathing, cough, slight fever (but she was on preventative antibiotics for her incision, so it was odd for her to be running a fever), and aches and pains in her tummy. She wanted blood tests and x-rays done to rule out infections and/or pneumonia, RSV, collapsed lung, etc... Feeling frustrated that we had just gone and spent $ at Quick Care and received no answers, we went home and called Ella's pediatrician's after-hours number and talked to the on-call nurse. She also urged us to go straight to the E.R., so we went. When we arrived and after we saw the doctor, he was so busy with a patient that was having heart troubles, that i...

Just a Thought

Tonight I went to coffee with a new friend.  It was extremely eye-opening.  She revealed to me that she craved in-depth conversations about God and be able to candidly share what He has done in her life without feeling awkward.  It just hit me like a ton of bricks, like a freight train or whatever analogy you need...that people are hungry for Jesus and communion with believers, even if they are already saved!  We are to live in community with others.  How are we to function as the body of Christ if the parts of the body aren't connected? Romans 12:5 "so in Christ we, though many, form one body , and each member belongs to all the others." How many times do I pass people on the street, in the grocery store or even at church and not even make eye-contact?  What if all they needed that day was a smile or one "hello" to keep afloat?  I commit today to be more intentional and to ask Jesus who I am supposed to connect with that day.  Just a...

If You Weren't Born...

My Dearest Ella, If you weren't born, my child, if you weren't born... If you weren't born, I wouldn't have laid alone,  in a hospital bed, like an empty drone.  My chest ripping open with lonely cries, for my husband and daughter, sobbing tragic lullabies. If you weren't born, I wouldn't have risked my life, ridiculed by the doctors, feeling endless strife. Day by day they looked on me, with disgust-filled eyes, and some pit-y. If you weren't born, I wouldn't have been in pain, back aching from my frozen position, always the same. I thought if I moved, it might tear the sack, and leak out more fluid, which you already lacked. Yes, if you weren't born, I wouldn't have had stabbing grief, attacking my gut, with no sign of relief. You see, I was told you were as good as dead, when my water broke, and my heart bled. If you weren't born, I wouldn't have had to post, ...
